Muse neutron star collision
Lighting

The lighting at the start of the video coincides with the piano chords played, because blue is a very vibrant colour and is very light, in this clip it is associated with the major (happy) chords played on the piano and the red being a colour associated with love passion and death, the red is put on the minor (sad/deathly) chords, these colours also combine with the lyrics, that are already about love and passion and death but also has the up side (joyful side).
The light at the start of the video is shown from behind the man playing piano which distorts our perception of him by not being able to see him very well giving and element of mystery to this person making us wonder who he is, and the lights being in the back ground are depicting his emotions without us seeing his face
Because this song/video was made for the twilight eclipse film the lights also depict the element of twilight by being like a heavenly light to travel towards to light a twilight.
Camera angles/shots/editing
The angles tend to stay below the band members in this clip to show that they are powerful and in control, because the words they are singing are very powerful, there are some close up shots of the singers hands playing piano which cross-fades with the mid shot of him playing piano
The shots in this clip as I have said with the other analysis’s, when the music is slow and solemn the rate of change in the shots are slow but when it gets to the intro chorus the rate of shot change is fast to fit with the pase of the music

Comparisons
Between “bounce” by the cab & “I write sins not tragedies” by panic at the disco

The first video (bounce by the cab) contains a very light feel to it as if you’re in heaven making this a very happy and joyful video as appose to “I write sins not tragedy” by panic at the disco, which is set in a rather dark damp place with dark lighting, so in the “bounce” video they wear mostly white and use primary colours but in the “sins not tragedies” video it is mostly dark greys blacks and dimmed primary colours.
The feel of both videos is a big contrast too, as in they both has a completely different and distinctive depiction to them, as the first one is about happy things and heaven and such, but the second one is about dark and tragic things.
The camera styles are the same in both, in that they move in a way that almost keeps in time with the music so its syncopated camera movement, so that this doesn’t disorientate us from either the music or the video.

Panic at the disco analysis

Lighting
The general lighting of this music video is very dark to signify the element of sins and tragedies as the titles say. it also dipicts two sides to the singers face giving him a split personality type feel, the lighting from the doors and windows is very direction so that it appears to be very light and bright outside but inside the light is dimmed.
Costume
The costume of the main singer is a circus showman’s suit which would signify that he is the main person in this video, as a “ring master” as it were.
The extras (dancers in the background) are also wearing circus attire and also have their faces painted as if they were clowns. Circus clowns are commonly associated with mischief and doing stupid things which fit with this video perfectly.
The bride is wearing a traditional bridal dress where as the groom is wearing a black suit and black tie so this would either mean that he is the bad person in this or its more like a funeral he is attending and he is mourning over something.
Camera angles
The first shot we see of the singer is a close up on his face, which is ever so slightly hidden which gives an element of mystery to this person.
When we see the bride and, there is a two shot to show them on equal sides, then an extreme close-up on the lips when they say “I love you” this is to emphasise it in a obvious way to the watchers.
Close up shots on this video are very common because it has to emphasise what the characters are feeling in an obvious way so the listener/watcher doesn’t have to think too much about the video because it is set in an obvious way.
The camera angles change constantly to suit the tempo and urgency of the music in the video.
Mise en scene
The mise en scene of this video clip is telling the story of a bride who is cheating on her fiancée, it is set in a small chapel like location this reinforces the wedding idea, as i have said previously there is also a circus element to this making it seem very stupid and outlandish to, also as I emphasised before this coincides with tragedy as well because clowns cause mischief.
